I used to use everyday in windows a tool under Windows PowerToys ,called text extractor, basically i set a hotkey and then after i press i can choose the area of the screen to it extract the text, it automatically do the OCR and copy to my clipboard, and the hotkey works in entire system, is not like an app that need to be active to work.
That only thing is kinda messing with my workflow in linux. Do you guys recommend any tool that could work like that ?
In the meantime, im using the flatpak app “frog” but is way far from the seamsly workflow of windows
This tool can load an image from the clipboard, allowing you to create the workflow: taking a screenshot, drag an area, feeding it to the app, and then it copies extracted text to your clipboard. It is also on Flathub: TextSnatcher by Solai Raj (RajSolai)
flatpak install flathub com.github.rajsolai.textsnatcher
