This is a discussion topic for the following Common Issue:
Problem
Fedora 39 Workstation includes GNOME 45. In this version of GNOME, the extension system was rewritten and is no longer compatible with previous versions of extensions. This means that all GNOME Shell extensions will have to be updated in order to work on GNOME 45. If they are not updated, they will not work. It’s likely that this will affect many extensions which are no longer well-maintained.

You can discuss the problem and its solutions here, but please note that debugging and technical feedback should primarily go to the issue trackers (e.g. Bugzilla) linked in the Common Issue, because that’s the place that developers watch, not here.
If there are any updates/changes/amendments for the Common Issue description, which you believe should be performed, please post it here.

All of my extensions are installed via rpm. I found that using the firefox browser extension to enable extensions did not work.
Using the gnome-extensions-app and toggling the top Extensions button to ‘on’ did work. At this time (30 Sept) 1 extension broken, 1 not compatible.
thanks for the info!
