T480 with F44 Kinoite Won't Stay Asleep on Battery

Hello! I need some help troubleshooting this, please. My T480 won’t stay asleep when running on battery power. I lock the session, and then click the Sleep button, and the laptop goes to sleep for about five seconds, and then its power light comes back on. It doesn’t seem to matter whether I close the lid. If I don’t, the display comes on when it wakes.

If I do the same thing when it’s on AC power, it goes to sleep and stays asleep. In fact, once it’s asleep, I can unplug it and it will stay asleep.

It used to sleep on battery power just fine, so I’m curious whether I changed a setting that caused this, but I don’t remember what I’ve changed.

Here is information about my system:

Operating System: Fedora Linux 44
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.29.0
Qt Version: 6.11.2
Kernel Version: 7.1.13-200.fc44.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8350U CPU @ 1.70GHz
Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: Intel® UHD Graphics 620
Manufacturer: LENOVO
Product Name: 20L6S07G00
System Version: ThinkPad T480

And here are snippets of journalctl listings for each sleep attempt, one on AC, and the other on battery:

I’m not quite following everything that is going on in these logs. If anything, it seems like there might be more problems happening on AC power, but the sleep/wake seems to work correctly there.

Please let me know if I can provide other information. I have searched for this problem and I don’t see anything quite like it.

Thank you in advance!
Eric

For myself I had to disable Modern Standby and enforce S3 sleep by adding intel_idle.max_cstate=1 and processor.max_cstate=1 to your GRUB kernel.

This is kind of simualr to your T480 Mine is a T520 Intel CPU and Video.

I had to look at this to determine my actions:
