No data loss. A fresh install of fc39 preserving home partition solved the issue.
system upgrade to fedora 39 failed, on Lenovo thinkpad E585. May I force power off and reboot. How bad is the problem? Is there a way to prevent loss of data? Please help! This is mind boggling, and at this moment beyond my capacity to resolve. Thank you.

Pressing CRTL+ALT+F3 from the Oh no screen, I am able to login.Please What are the steps to fix the system?

Try upgrading again like this:

If the issue persists, check your root filesystem and its free space.
