I have Fedora KDE 40 with full disk encryption on a NovaCustom NV41 laptop. I have just set up a new user account and when I want to switch to it, either with the button on the kickoff menu or the lock screen, the whole computer freezes and I can’t move my mouse nor switch to a TTY with the keyboard, so all I can do is forcibly turning off the laptop. I have no clue what could be causing this, ask for more details if you need them.

Hi, I have the same laptop, good buy!
First, inspect your journal logs for errors.
journalctl -r -b -1 --priority warning
If not enough messages appear, remove the warning filter.
And most Plasma bugs on Fedora are direct upstream issues, this one not so sure but likely too. Lets look at the logs, but filing an issue in bugs.kde.org is likely the next step.
The user switching is a really new feature only since Plasma6.
Added f40, freeze, intel, kde-plasma, plasma6
Here’s the log: https://0x0.st/X853.txt
I can see a line that says “Failed to take control of /dev/tty1 (gianmarco): Operation not permitted”, maybe that’s it?
Same error on Asahi Fedora Remix (KDE 41). A workaround for me is to disable the automatic login.
