Yes I went with the complete reinstall route because (1) just wanted it to work, didnt have time to tinker if anything potentially went wrong and (2) already wanted a fresh system because I realized I made a few system adjustments that did not work for some of my setup. So just killing 2 birds with one stone. I agree with @theprogram too though it’s really not a huge undertaking to just download and install Gnome on your existing system.
Recently on Reddit I saw someone “get Gnomed” where they downloaded/installed a single Gnome package to use on their KDE, without realizing that the package also pulled in all the Gnome dependencies, resulting in the user seeing Gnome when they logged in after restart… they had no idea what happened and why their desktop looked completely different. Which is apparently something that happens! If it can successfully install itself by accident.. I’m sure you’ll be ok without reinstalling the entire system
Just make sure you remove KDE after the fact and you should be set lol

Edit2: here’s advice from @computersavvy in my prev thread about removing KDE after:
Also, if you are like me and love Dolphin, you can install it in Gnome, too! I was pretty happy about that. Not a fan of nautilus
