“To spell this out: any FOSS vendor should constantly strive to run their entire business on FOSS. Even if they don’t sell a particular function, it’s still part of the whole.”
Don’t most Linux users on-video use Macbooks? ![]()
Kind of interesting though. Teams afaik works (don’t hear about it not working), and I guess if Windows is involved anywhere it’s a safe bet everyone can get on the same channel.
Not sure how FOSS it is, but I’d consider Keybase: https://keybase.io/
Even the EU Parliament uses Teams.
They use it because of service level agreements. Of course the sovereignty issue is becoming increasingly problematic.
I would guess as you say Suse uses it to be interoperable, but me, I’m a hardliner
I insist on open interoperable standards (like, you know, the internet was built on) - built on soveriegn hardware.
I suggest that we start teaching high-school students how to use open software so they don’t feel lost when they are asked to something more than swipe of press a button.
There are a number of new EU ‘friendly’ option with video-calling, with Matrix technology being a big part of that.
