in the GNOME online accounts it says that I can add a CalDAV account. However, when I insert my credentials (and giving the right addresss in the calendar section with https://mydomain.com:8443/calendars/username/default) it always says “Cannot find WebDAV endpoint” - which is not surprising, as I only have CalDAV endpoints for calendar and addressbook!
Thanks for the hint - but my problem is different:
With my service provider, I sync addressbook, calendar and task list via CalDAV. No problems in evolution.
But I do not have WebDAV or any file synchronisation.
However, Calendar accepts CalDAV entries only when providing WebDAV data, too - but then it (of course) says that the connection fails (as there is no WebDAV).
So, the problem is that I cannot sync my calendar in Calendar because it’s not connected to a WebDAV file sync.
Given that CalDAV is basically extending the WebDAV protocol, could it be that your service provider also has WebDAV under the hood, even if not providing file synchronization as a service?
You might also consider bringing your issue to GOA’s Gitlab and file an issue. The maintainer(s) are open to integrate new services, but you might need to share the name of the provider you are using.
This worked for me in f43 (just updated to f44 some days ago).
I self host radicale which supports only caldav/carddav. I remember, that I had to add it from gnome-calendar using a button at the bottom. This didn’t work with GOA.
