Steam window disappears on fedora 41

Like the title says my steam window disappears after a few seconds and the only way to get it back is to force stop the program because it stays running in the background. I’ve read that some people have a similar issue with the flat pack version, but I downloaded the default in fedora software and it wasn’t the flat pack.

Disclaimer, I’m very new to this whole system, equivalent to a toddler.

I did see this a little while ago for a short while, but not with up to date f41 and rpmfusion steam. I did not do anything to fix it, it seemed be random if it would do this. After starting steam enough times it fixed itself.
(I do not lime bugs that “fix themselves”).

Where did you install steam from?

Yeah, I unfortunately haven’t gotten the fabled “self-fix” haha. I installed it from the fedora software application that comes with fedora.

Do you have nvidia GPU?
If so have you installed the rpmfusion nvidia drivers to support the GPU?

You could be running into this Steam bug: Cannot open steam window if window is closed and running on the tray bar · Issue #11423 · ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux · GitHub
