A strange thing happens with Steam - when I press steam app icon from time to time it logs me out of system and I need to re-login. Also after steam launch sometimes my network disappear (I am using VPN and it might be blocking it). The same thing is happening on Silverblue and Bazzite. On Silverblue I am using unofficial community made steam app from flathub, but on bazzite it is preinstalled. It feels to me that steam might be a very unsafe program.
All games I buy only on GOG (when steam refused to refund a game that I disliked, justifying that I played it 2:10 minutes while it is allowed just fir two hours : D, but I like to play online games and I can do it only on steam : (
Oh, in some other forums people were having the same issues and they were saying that it is because of nvidia graphic driver crash and it is not steam related.
A crash of your desktop environment looks very similar to getting logged out: the DE crashes, it gets restarted, and you end up back at the login screen.
People seem to like blaming nvidia when there is an issue. That often is not the case because only a few complain and the great majority never have problems. If it were nvidia then everyone using that driver/GPU combo should see similar symptoms.
I have nvidia and use steam with no issues to date.
