I’m using the latest Steam client from RPM Fusion. I started noticing this about 2 months ago while using normal Fedora Workstation with Gnome. I thought it was just bugged out on Gnome and ignored it. I’m back on the Fedora KDE spin now (full clean install) and it does the same thing. It seems to be some how related to opening games and then closing them. Since i only notice this high GPU usage after closing a game on Steam. The GPU usage will stick @ 30%+ when nothing is even open on my PC besides Btop and that doesn’t use that much GPU. CPU usage seems to get stuck @ around a constant 1% for one of the Steamwebhelper processes as well. Anyone else running into this issue or something similar? Every single time it happens, maximizing the Steam client clicking anywhere on it’s window and then minimizing it fixes the high GPU usage and the CPU usage for steam drops back down to normal levels. I noticed this after playing Arc Raiders, Overwatch 2 and Path of Exile 2. So it doesn’t seem to be related to a single game. Any help figuring out what is causing this would be great. I honestly thought that i had a bitcoin miner on my PC or something, but it just seems to be a bug in the Steam client or something.
