SoundBlaster Audigy 2 not working after Fedora reinstall

Hello All!

I had a dualboot windows and Fedora 43. I found my audigy2 card not long ago after many years sitting in a closet. Just installed the card in the computer, and it worked under Linux (i had a fight with it in Windows tho). Now, i recently switched to an SSD, reinstalled everything from scratch. My audigy is still ok under windows, but on Fedora 44 i can’t make it work. If i type lspci -v | grep audigy, it sees 05:01.0 Multimedia Audio Controller Creative labs… like everything is ok. In volume control, under Configuration tab i can’t see it. Tried to reinstall pipewire, rpmfusion, libdvdcss and some other stuff recommended by forums and AI. Still nothing. Just a reminder: this exact hardware combination is still working under windows.

I think this card requires some firmware files found in alsa-firmware.noarch

what gives

journalctl -b -k -g 'snd|emu10k'

If it’s still not detected after a restart, then install alsa-tools-firmware

Try to write down the steps needed to add support for software and hardware that doesn’t work out of the box.
