Sound stutters when playback media, right after 5-10 secs. or so of inactivity

Happens to Firefox browser and MPV as well (but only via HDMI out, Bluetooth Speakers/Headphones are fine…) any ideas?

You don’t say which release you’re using, give any version numbers, state which desktop you’re using or what kind of video card and drivers you’re using… so “nope - no idea”.

However, you can remedy most of this by posting the output from inxi -Fzxx so we at least have a clue about what you’re using.

Thanks for trying to help. I was not asking for an analysis or reproduction but only if I’m the only one experiencing this issue or not.

But because you asked, it happens with all kernels 7.* up to 7.1.0-0.rc5.35.fc45.x86_64 and System is like:

CPU0: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor (family: 0x19, model: 0x61, stepping: 0x2)

Memory: 64634752K/66149280K available (24154K kernel code, 4737K rwdata, 18596K rodata, 5272K init, 4420K bss, 1486016K reserved, 0K cma-reserved)

VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Navi 48 [Radeon RX 9070/9070 XT/9070 GRE] (rev c0)

Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Navi 48 HDMI/DP Audio Controller

That was my point - we can’t tell if anyone else has an issue with sound stuttering as we had no idea of what environment you were experiencing it in.

You’re using Rawhide. Probably relevant, I would guess.

For info though, all is fine here on F44, up to 7.0.10-200.fc44.x86_64.

OK, now I found that it is not related to the full screen mode, but rather to inactivity of the mouse pointer… as long I move the mouse there is no stutter, what the heck?
