i got this issue too, i think using DP or USB-C charging might cause this issue. Try to use the native power adapter.
Same on a new Framework 16 Gen2 Laptop. The Life Fedora 43 KDE system sounded good. I installed Fedora 43 KDE Plasma Desktop on the HDD and it still sounded good. But then after it did over 800 package updates at which the sound turned real muffled. I installed EasyEffects and used the FW16 preset, but to be honest, it barely improved it. Easy Effects seems to be designed for Sound Engineers, not the common person. I have never heard of “Wet Effect” etc. And it now doesn’t appear to have an equalizer anymore either…at least not from what I can see.
I installed KDE on FreeBSD, and zero problems with sound ever since. No longer use LInux.
