I am far from a Linux expert, I have been using Fedora for about 3 years.
I have dual-boot Windows 11 and Fedora on my Asus UX425EA. I was on f38 until 1 month ago. About 1 month ago, I upgraded Windows and everything on the Windows side using MyAsus and upgraded to f39. I had no problem exempt, maybe related, that I could not record sound on ANKI.
Then when f40 came out, I did the same. I updated everything on Windows side. MyAsus showed that I should update the Bios. I did not as I was a little intimidated by it as I have dual-boot. Anyway. I updated to f40 using the Software GUI Application.
I could not record ANKI but using Meet on Google the mic was working, I could watch YouTube and sound would play. Rhythmbox was playing music.
Today, I try to join a meeting on Google Meet. It said that it could not find the mic on Brave Browser. I tried in Chrome. No luck.
I used Terminal and did a sudo dnf update. Then reboot…
Since then… YouTube does not start any videos on any browsers. Sound does not play on Rhythmbox (Songs do not start). Sound does not play using Videos or VLC. To sounds in the Input when using OBS. Is I use File and navigate to a mp3 and use spacebar to preview or open… No sound.
Web search said to :
delete .local/state/wireplumber
systemctl --user stop wireplumber.service, rm -rf ~/.local/state/wireplumber, systemctl --user start wireplumber.service
systemctl --user restart wireplumber pipewire pipewire-pulse
Nothing worked.
I again, updated Windows and I updated the Bios.
Nothing… PLEASE, pretty please. any help would be appreciated.
