Hi, I’ve read a number of posts where people have discussed similar problems getting sound output to work but none seem to discuss methods that have worked for me. I’m creating a new topic in the hopes that we can pull together ways of identifying why soundcards (and in my case, headphones) don’t work.

Hi, thanks. FYI, since my first post, I have a couple things sort of working better:
- Internal speakers working, although they’re really not good sound quality. I think the pavucontrol app helped with this. My recollection was that turning up the volume using this tool was effective.
- USB headphones still extremely faint. (Better sound which i would like to use)
I’m going to break this into multiple posts to get the output of different commands into the topic.

OK, so chalk it up to being late at night, but I discovered, after installing pavucontrol, I just needed to turn up the volume on my headphones. DOH! Anyway, all is good now.
