I’m looking for a very simple free and open source to-do list application that works on both GNOME/Linux and Android.
It is just for personal use; I don’t need advanced project management features, Kanban boards, or anything particularly sophisticated. My needs are quite basic: creating task lists, checking items off, and ideally keeping things synchronized between my desktop and phone.
I’ve already tried Tasks.org on Android and it seems perfectly adequate for what I need. Before committing to a solution, though, I was wondering if there are other applications you would recommend.
What do you use for simple personal task management across linux and Android?
I’m especially interested in solutions that integrate well with GNOME and don’t require a proprietary service.
On my desktop I have used Errands for a while, but now I’m using Planify, which is more feature-rich and more actively developed. Both are GNOME apps and integrate well with the desktop.
I don’t use Android, so can’t comment on Android apps, but there are surely quite a few that provide at least CalDAV integration for syncing purposes.
On a side-note, there is also a powerful CLI tool called Taskwarrior, available in the repos. I haven’t found though any third-party Android app integrating Taskwarrrior that is actively maintained.
