Should Fedora sponsor the KDE project as an official patron?

I saw this executed by several FOSS projects and I think it is much less controversial, when support of the upstream happens without conditions and obligations.

Important is to have a transparent institution (framework) that regulates the distribution of funds, so that all potential projects are equally considered without subjective preferences.
