Send posted media as attachment (preferred) or with a fully qualified URL (alternative) in the mail notification

Another thing I noticed using my mail client for following Discussion[1] is the way attachments are treated:

![update-fork-button6|690x204](upload://vH36BdMUkB2CzZCphPFLX0jVsh1.png)

That’s pretty useless. It should, at the very least, be a fully qualified URL to the picture. Preferably, it should be attached to the e-mail. Depending on the size of the attachment, I could imagine there being a cut off, above which the file will not be attached, but only linked for easy viewing in the browser.

Is that something that can be configured?

I’ll look into that.

Being busy opening an issue for the quote formatting, I came across the
following thread:

I skimmed through it and it appears there are settings to include
attachments and set a size limit.

Ah, there are. What do we think is a good limit?

email total attachment size limit kb
  • 100
  • 1000
  • 2000
  • 10000
  • 20000
  • more?

0 voters

That’s another thing on the growing list of things not available through
e-mail… :frowning:

I think 2MB sounds reasonable. Anything bigger, if it’s an image, has
not been resized/compressed properly, I’d say.

With 10MB or larger, I think we might be hitting MSP limits sooner or later.

PS: I will head over to the website to vote.

3 posts were split to a new topic: Polls don’t work by email

The poll didn’t get a lot of interest, but 3 of the 4 voters selected 2000, so that’s what I’ve set the limit at for now. We can, of course, revisit if need be.
