After update to Fedora 43 including Gnome update, I cannot make the screenshot app take a selected area shot. The cross-hair does not appear. However if I open screenshot again. the cross-hair will appear only visible on the new instance window. – This looks like a bug issue to me. – Thanks in advance for any help. (Edit: there seem to be many more problems with this app).
You could try ksnip. I am on the MATE-Compiz spin and was having issues with SELinux alerts popping up every time I took a screenshot. So I thought I would try ksnip to see if the problem persisted with it. It did but I was able to track down the SELinux alert problem to systemd-homed. Disabled systemd-homed and the SELinux alert problem stopped…
But anyway, you could give it a try. I believe it should work on gnome.
I might have a disk space problem. I’m going to re-allocate some unused space to boot and thsi :- dev/mapper/fedora_localhost–live-home

(edit) – OK. Not the problem. I am sure it is a bug with screenshot app.
98% used can certainly cause problems.
I try to keep mine about 80% or less if possible.
It appears you are using LVM & ext4 with the path you provided.
It would be much worse if you were using btrfs and it were that full.
