Hoping someone can help with this. I have tried to no avail to get my speakers to make any sound. I’m running Fedora 37 Workstation.
In my sound settings, my output device is Speaker - Alder Lake PCH-P High Definition Audio Controller
In alsamixer
my audio card is sof-hda-dsp
and my chip is Realtek AL298
I tried following these instructions which some have reported worked for the Galaxy Book (not the Book2) in Manjaro and Arch Linux but they didn’t work for me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

FYI the problem is also present with a Book2 Pro (Realteak ALC298) under Linux Mint 21.1 even using the new 6.1 mainline kernels up to and including 6.1.12.

Should be similar to this problem on another system with the Realtek ALC298 sound card
Hi, the solution above, also described in more detail here [SOLVED] Fixing ALC298 audio (no sound from speakers) worked on my LG gram laptop under Fedora 38. Probably would also work for other computers with a Realtek ALC298 sound card.
Any idea why we have to configure the soundcard with the hda-verb commands and why does the card not work on Fedora 38 right out of the box ? Is there some bug report to be filed for this ? Have not tested under Fedora 39 or later, but 38 is currently support…
