Samsung Galaxy Book 12 - Touchpad no longer works after reconnecting the keyboard cover

Hej,
if I remove the keyboard cover and then reconnect it, the touchpad no longer works. But the keyboard still works perfectly. The problem can only be solved by restarting Fedora.

The following messages appear in the journalctl:

Does anyone have an idea how to solve the problem?

Thanks!

Not a fedora specific problem, I get it too in Debian. If I put the computer to sleep and wake it up the touchpad seems to work again. My dmesg looks like yours, here’s what kernel I’m on:

$ uname -a
Linux host 5.7.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.7.6-1 (2020-06-24) x86_64 GNU/Linux

And I’ve had the same problem across multiple earlier kernels.

Does all your hardware work otherwise? I haven’t been able to make the onboard sound work. (Mine’s the 10, not 12, but the hardware seems more or less the same.)
