Rythmic pings to the internet

Hello dear Fedora Community,
in my resources overview I noticed that I have some reappearing internet (13kb/s upstream spikes) activity and wondered if it’s normal. This also happens when I have no vpn connected.
A few days ago it wasn’t like this. I only tried to set up some vmware stuff – i didn’t really succeed. It’s the same behaviour in idle / right after startup.
Maybe I am paranoid but I sometimes don’t really know what I am doing in the terminal…
CPU and RAM seem to be normal

Do you have a browser running when this happens?

There are tools that show what TCP connects as they happen.
I have used sudo iptraf-ng in the past.
Keep that running and when you see the peak look at the IP address in iptraf-ng.

Edit: add sudo - must be root to use.

I had no browser open but somehow it resolved it self now
Thanks for your help <3
