Returning to sleep messes with desktop arrangement

After return from sleep my displays are arranged like:

Can I do something about it? I rearrange it to

Which desktop are you using?

Sorry: that would be KDE -Plasma

When you shutdown, power up, login are the monitors in the correct layout?

yes I think so. Not doing that very often

What I’m wondering is if the layout is not saved into a config file.
If you do the shutdown and boot up and loigiun test you prove that it is saved to disk.

That leaves a scond possibility that kwin is redoing the layout.
If that is the cause the that needs reporting to the kde devs.

Yes it does save the layout.

But the laptop has some other odd behavior returning from sleep>

  • Keyboard working but no effect on enter or clicking the continue buttone
  • Layout different
  • Sound not working

How or where are the layouts saved? As a teacher/presenter I frequently switch between multi monitor layouts. That works suprisingly accross my setups

  1. Single screen
  2. Dual screen with build in and portable M14t monitor
  3. Tripple screen with build in, portabel M14T and wide screen monitor
  4. Tripple screen with build in, portable M14t mirrored on room display

And more often than not finds the proper layout.

I think you need to raise these issue with kde folks over at https://discuss.kde.org/

In ~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json I believe.

Thanks, Good advice!
