"Restored" KDE 6 asks for kdewallet password

  1. I made a Backup of my Home Folder
  2. I made a fresh install with the same OS as before (Fedora 41 KDE Spin)

At this point I was not asked to enter a PW for KDE wallet after login

  1. I restored the complete Home Folder from my previous backup

Now KDE wallet asks to be unlocked after login.

  • Account Password is identical with kde wallet
  • both before fresh install and after install

I looked at “/etc/pam.d/sddm” and compared to another computer: Everything seems to be as it should.

What can i do?

I had the same problem after an update. Far as I know I don’t even use the Wallet. Solution was to go into Settings, find “wallet” and disable it.
