Resizing QEMU/KVM windows

What has worked for weeks now, until yesterday afternoon, suddenly stopped working. The only thing was an update of Fedora 44 yesterday evening

The windows VM suddenly stopped resizing. It is the same Windows 11 installation so I assume Fedora 44 update broke something. How do I get my resizing back?

It seems that resizing does not work if the monitor it is trying to is mirrored with another display—the situation when I’m presenting. Disconnecting the third screen results in scaling VM
