I am trying to set up a connection between two machines, both running Fedora WS42. Unfortunately it says:
not sure what this means, but looks like it won’t work. Real shame. Does anyone know of a working alternative for occasionally logging in to give support to someone using their machine? (Which i set up for them)
Thanks

GNOME Remote Desktop and the steps to get it working are discussed in this topic (caveat, it’s 1.5 years old and some things may have changed)
There are several users who need to connect to my remote server, each with their own accounts, who need to interact with Firefox. They’re mostly connecting from Windows machines. I’m looking into retiring the Windows server that was responsible for this until now.
This is my first time setting up a remote access solution on Linux. It turned out to be pretty easy with xrdp and GNOME. I installed it, allowed access to port 3389, and started the service. Logging in didn’t initially work. I needed …

It doesn’t appear that way when you look at pricing page. I will look again, but it also talks about ‘self hosting’ and ‘servers’. I am looking for a simple GUI alternative to AnyDesk/teamviewer.

Way over my head unfortunately, can’t even understand the discussion let alone work out what the actual instructions are!

Are the two machines on the same network? If yes, then using GNOME Collections should be straightforward.

Thanks very much, I looked into RustDesk and its working perfectly well enough for what i need (quick settings fixes etc)
Seems a good time to mention that I extracted what I learned from this discussion into an article with a 3-minute screencast explaining how to set it up in-depth: Setup Headless Multi-User Sessions on Wayland with GNOME Remote Desktop in GNOME 48 - James North's Site
I still use it in GNOME 48. G-R-D is even better now.
