Refresh rate capped after updating to Fedora 43

Hi. I just installed nobara and updated to F43. Before updating both my main and second monitor ran at 180hz and 144hz respectively, but after updating my second monitor doesn’t go any higher than 60hz.

Is there any way to fix this? I tried reinstalling Nvidia drivers but it didn’t work.

I’m using an RTX 3060Ti, and the second monitor is using hdmi. It ran at 144hz no problem on windows and F42 like I said.

This person had a similar issue, fixed by downgrading the Nvidia drivers from 580.105.08 to 580.95.05.

However I’m not sure the exact steps to take to achieve that on Nobara. I don’t think it uses the RPMFusion repos which are the easiest way to get Nvidia drivers on Fedora itself.

I have a similar problem. After updating to Fedora 43, my external monitor only shows as 60Hz. Previously it worked just fine at 144Hz.

What I found so far is, if I connect the monitor using Display Port it’s properly shows as 144Hz. Only HDMI is bugged.

Update: Just tried downgrading the Nvidia driver from 580.105.08 to 580.95.05 and my display is back at 144Hz again.

So it seems nvidia driver bug. Hope it’ll be fixed soon.

This issue was fixed in Nvidia driver 580.119.02.
