Recover from failed installation

After following the steps in the solution my Fedora 44 Latop stopped

  1. running bluetooth
  2. attaching to the docking station, running the two displays
  3. loading WLAN/LAN

I wonder if that was expected behaviour. I could return to a working laptop by switching to an older kernel.

EDIT: dkms seems to break fedora 44

FYI please use pre-formatted text for output of commands. YTou can use the </> button or type in markup like this:

```
$ uname -a
Linux fender.internal 7.1.13-200.fc44.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Sep  2 13:58:38 UTC 2026 x86_64 GNU/Linux
```

It is not dkms that break your setup it is the kernel module(s) that you got from third party sources.

dkms means that you are running code that Fedora does not package.
You need to work with the maintainer of the code you got to fix any issues you hit.
Maybe the maintainer has not update the module you are using to work with latest kernels?

How to I get backup to the latest kernel?

Doesn´t work proper for inxi output.

It does for everyone else…

Start by removing the modules you have added via dkms.
Then update to the latest kernel and reboot.

Try to mark the text and copy & past with the menu option. Or try to copy and paste with shift & ctrl c / p. It looks like that just with copy & paste it escapes the " ' " character.

It is the bold it makes with the " * " characters. But please try to find out how to copy/paste it. I do not get it in gnome. It is still better readable.

Have a look here:

or here:

It does if you have the text input window set to Markdown for text input. That is controlled by the button on the far left of the toolbar and should look like this. It does not work properly for me if I click the A on that toggle button.
