Is it possible for you to connect a speaker set directly to the computer to see if you can still hear the clicks, or maybe a headset. This is to see if the clicks come out of the computer or are generated in the device which is connected through HDMI.
if I connect to integrated intel HDMI there are no clicks.
Actually I found out that this only happens with Youtube video feeds. Any other, VLC other browser feeds, don’t have this. What is YT doing diferent?
As I see it now there are two things going on:
The last one indicates you use a browser. When connected to the HDMI on the AMD GPU your hear clicks. Do you use hardware acceleration in the browser? If so, what happens when you switch that off?
How random are the clicks? Can they be caused by something happening in close proximity of the PC/monitor? Do you hear multiple clicks per second, or is it more like multiple clicks per minute?
What happens when you exchange the two HDMI cables on the computer side only?
What happens, in original configuration, when you exchange the 2 cables on the monitor side?
Which AMD driver do you use?
I’ll keep thinking about other possibilities, in the mean time you have some homework to do. ![]()
[EDIT} Changed Nvidia GPU into AMD GPU.
Thanks for your elaborate answer Jan.
I believe I’ve narowed the problem down to FireFox and even further to an extension h264ify. Having that switched off so it seems the problem is.
