Ran grub2-mkconfig...no longer will boot

#1

Hello,

My laptop’s ethernet adapter gives me trouble linking at gig so these are the steps I take to fix it.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1038156#c31

Anyway after I run grub2-mkconfig and reboot I get error: can’t find command linux16 and initrd16

This has happened to me once before while I was doing the initial install so I ignored it and didn’t make the changes.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

This partially fixes it.

Boot into a livecd
mount /dev/sda1 /boot/

mv /boot/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg{,.broken}
mv /boot/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg{.old,}

I had modified the ostree to fix an issue with podman which might have complicated this more.
The ostree path with grub.cfg.old was incorrect. When I was brought to a recovery prompt I replaced the ostree parameter within grub.cfg from grub.cfg.broken.

I am not sure if this is still an open issue that needs to be fixed or what the correct process to update grub settings.
