PWA in Firefox now working!

Mozilla strangely calls PWA’s “Taskbar Apps” but they are now available in Firefox 155. If you want them, type about:config in the taskbar and search for browser.taskbarTabs.enabled. Change the setting to “true” and restart Firefox. When you restart Firefox you’ll see an “Add tab to taskbar” button in the search box. The implementation still isn’t as smooth as on Chromium based browsers, but you’re like me and the lack of PWA’s has been holding you back from supporting Firefox, there is now a solution. Not sure why Mozilla still disables this feature by default.

Update: So I switched to Firefox from Edge. its a good browser, but honestly Edge is slightly better. Firefox doesn’t run videos on the X.com web site. But I am staying with Firefox because my goal this year has been to disentangle myself from Microsoft. I installed COSMIC Atomic on my ThinkPad. I got rid of Outlook.com and signed up for Thundermail. I now use Thunderbird and Aerion for email. I cancelled my Microsoft 365 account. The final step was getting rid of Edge. I’d rather be logged into Firefox with a Mozilla account to sync across devices than a Microsoft account with Edge. Microsoft’s corporate values no longer align with my personal values, and I think the quality of their products generally has gone down dramatically. This isn’t telling anyone what to do, but its my personal choice.
