Problem Verifying ISO image of Fedora 33 Spin (F33 Scientific)

I recently upgraded to F33 and also found the labs.fedora site, and am interested in Scientific Fedora: Download Fedora Scientific - mostly due to an issue of C linking to LAPACK with the gfortran compiler that seems to happen for gfortan 7, 8, 9, 10 (10 ships with F33), for those who use LAPACK, that I’m hoping the makers of Fedora 33 Scientific have fixed.

I’ve downloaded the .ISO file for Fedora Scientific, but when I go to verify the CHECKSUM file (using Verify your Downloaded Image), I get two errors:

gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: verify files failed: Unknown system error

The link to the installation guide at the bottom of the download page is also dead (404 error). Changing the f33 to f32 does nothing to enliven the link. I’d provide links, but am limited to 2 as a new user.

Is there a straight-forward way to verify the ISO for F33 before running it?

You are getting that error because checksum file on that page is not signed. If you go to verify page for official Fedora editions (Security and Download Verification) and look at checksum files there, at the end of each file you can see:

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----
....
....
....
-----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Can you file an issue about these here:

You can get the signed checksum file for Fedora 33 Scientific here:
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/releases/33/Labs/x86_64/iso/Fedora-Labs-33-1.2-x86_64-CHECKSUM

Or use torrents:

Thank you both for your responses and for the helpful links. I’ll submit an issue about the the unsigned checksum file and dead links to the installation guide.
