Problem after upgrade to 43

Hi everybody,

I’m from iran and my way to discussion website is baned by admin!!!. Why? I don’t know. I use a vpn for access to website. And long live freedom for all.

Okay, let’s move on

I upgraded to 43 from 42, after upgrade i han’t a normal boot and my pc go to a black screen and wait, wait, wait. Nothing !!!

So I booted the system in an emergency with CLI. Journal said me i have gdm errors.

I try to start or reinstall gdm, but i have two obstacles. One is network, i haven’t network in emergency mode. When i start network manager, system stall in middle way!!!

And two, how to repair gdm? Should i reinstall it or what?

And so my cli in emergency mode is read-only, how change to reade-write mode?

I suggest you to post logs from 2 minutes before and after the problem ocurred.

Try:
journalctl -S "2025-11-21 19:20" -U "2025-11-21 19:24" -p warning

-p warning is optional. This filters less important logs. If you want to post all them don’t use it.

I installed sddm and I was able to log in. now i know my problem is gdm. i reinstall gdm and wayland, but don’t solve.

Does anyone have a solution?

my problem was solved with help of chatgpt. problem was with pam and inavtive authselect profiles. !!!
