Preserving recovery partition

Hi,
I expect to install Fedora Workstation on my Acer laptop, that came with Windows 11 preinstalled.

I would like to make sure that the Windows recovery partition is preserved, are there anything I need to be aware of before installing?

The installer won’t auto-delete any partition. If you start the Storage Manager from within the installer, you can delete your Windows partition to make space for your future Fedora Linux. Just make sure not to delete the recovery partition. You can also recycle the ESP (EFI)-partition.

I could imagine that some of the files in the ESP file system needs to be preserved if you ever need to boot the recovery partition.

Hi !

Also, before installing Fedora, to make sure you don’t delete important files or partitions, you could use Clonezilla to entirely clone your disk. The backup could be compressed to reduce its space usage.
