Hello everyone,
This is my first post in these forums. I have been a longtime Kubuntu user (since 2016) and I’ve recently switched to Fedora 41 KDE (the last couple of months). It’s been a great experience so far!
Lately I have been experiencing the following issue since I upgraded from Plasma v6.2.5 to v6.3.1 (alongside with the KDE applications)
On KWrite v24.12.2 (native Fedora package), when I use the “Find” functionality and enter a string to search, after I click the down arrow “Jump to next match”, then the text field that contains my search term goes blank and I cannot go to the next instance of the string I am searching for (despite there being many instances of the same string in the text). This is obviously a bug.
This is not affecting Kate v24.12.2 despite the fact that KWrite shares a codebase with Kate.
I also tested:
- The KWrite v24.12.2 (Flatpak from Flathub) and this works just fine.
- The KWrite v24.12.2 (Fedora Flatpak) also works fine.
This makes me think that this is probably NOT an upstream (KDE) problem, but rather an issue with the native Fedora rpm package.
I thought to post here and get your ideas. Is this worth reporting to the Fedora bug tracker?
