I ( Ananya Nalavathu ) and Gonothi Franseline have co-authored an article as our final sprint deliverable before both our internships wrap up in August. We’ve got mentor approval and are ready to publish!
Article Summary:
A co-authored article by two Fedora interns - Ananya Nalavathu (CommOps, Red Hat Ireland) and Gonothi Franseline (Outreachy, AI/ML SIG) - introducing editorial-guide-ramalama, a RAG-based AI tool that checks Fedora article drafts against Community Blog and Magazine editorial guidelines, running entirely on local open-weight models.
Article Description:
During his Outreachy internship with the Fedora AI/ML SIG, Gonothi built editorial-guide-ramalama - a Retrieval-Augmented Generation tool that reads Fedora’s editorial guidelines and checks whether your article draft meets the standards before you submit. It runs locally, uses open-weight models, requires no API keys, and gives actionable feedback citing the specific guideline it’s checking against. This article covers what the tool does, why it exists, how the pipeline works, and why it matters for making Fedora contribution more accessible.
I reviewed the article, but I think that having the main title “Introduction” is not great. That should be title of the first section, but not title of the whole blog post. Could you add more descriptive title for the article?
Let me know when that is done and I will schedule it for next publishing day.
Hey Michal! Sorry for the overlook. I have now changed the title of the Article to “Meet editorial-guide-ramalama: An AI Assistant That Checks Your Fedora CommBlog and Magazine Articles Against Editorial Guidelines”. Please schedule it for tomorrow, let me know if there are any further more changes.
To be honest, I’m not sure if the edits work for author once the article is published. She needs to try if she could update it. Otherwise I can do the updates.
Hello! I am being able to make the edits and they are reflecting on the page as well.. The only thing I am having difficulty now is adding gonothi as a co author.. I can’t find the option in the wordpress…
