I have been having these issues since F43. With the 6.17.4 kernel. The only way to fix this error is restarting the machine and then for 30 minutes, it works but then it stops working again. It just goes back and forth.

no idea, but update the system sudo dnf upgrade --refresh and try to reproduce.

I also tried it with the latest kernel 6.17.7 and it doesn’t work and it also shows that background services use up 1.3 gb on my system.

I recall seeing something like this recently reported here, the fix was to increase the number of open files allowed. But I do not recall where the config change needs to be made.

I had the same issue after updating to F43 and see many such errors in journalctl --user --unit pipewire:

mod.protocol-native: server 0x56200c89fb70: failed to accept: Too many open files

Instead of increasing the number of allowed file handles, reinstalling pipewire and wireplumber like this worked:

sudo dnf reinstall pipewire pipewire-pulseaudio pipewire-alsa wireplumber

After doing this and a reboot, I see no more Too many open files errors.
