I have some bit-mapped (PCF) fonts that are now not being recognized by Fedora.
Is there a way to re-enable bitmapped fonts?
It looks like this is the commit that disabled them. But it is quite old: Commit - rpms/fontconfig - b127d80138b2dfc827667aa14f949e5056e27164 - src.fedoraproject.org
The README explains how those configuration files are supposed to work.
There appears to be a /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/70-yes-bitmaps.conf
, but I’ve never used it.
I did try that ( 70-yes-bitmaps.conf
) but did not see a difference; however, it now seems like it does work (perhaps I didn’t reboot). I removed the file /etc/fonts/conf.d/25-no-bitmap-fedora.conf
but that seems specific to particular fonts and probably did not make a difference.

I saw some mentions about running fc-cache
after config changes when searching online. But maybe a reboot is sufficient.
