Paper-icon-theme display issue after upgrading to Fedora 43

After upgrading from Fedora 42 to Fedora 43, I encountered icon display issues with the paper-icon-theme across multiple devices, as shown in Figure 1. However, its derivative theme, papirus-icon-theme, didn’t experience this problem (as shown in Figure 2). I’m not entirely sure of the cause yet.

Operating System Environment:

Fedora Workstation 43 x86_64

Installed Packages (RPM):

paper-icon-theme.noarch 1.5.0-19.20200312gitaa3e8af.fc43 fedora

papirus-icon-theme.noarch 20250501-1.fc43 fedora

Yes, I’d also noticed from its repository and package version that it had most likely been abandoned. The replacement I chose, however, is still actively maintained, so this post was mainly out of curiosity about what caused the disappearance of this pattern display after upgrading. Perhaps when I have some free time, I’ll try to continue tinkering with it and modify the package to restore it.

Thank you for your reply.
