Pam_systemd(polkit-1:session)

Hello Fedora community, my protocol app shows the following message:

pam_systemd(polkit-1:session): Failed to check if /run/user/0/bus exists, ignoring: Permission denied

But /run/user/0/bus… does not exist. Only /run/user/1000/bus/… is visible under /run/user… I do not know why fedora or an app automatically is searching in folder /run/user/0/…
Can i fix this issue by myself or is this a general issue?

Welcome to Ask :fedora:

Which app?
There is no way for us to test your conditions and make suggestions without being able to test the specific app you are using.

We also need to know which version of fedora you may be using (f42 or f43, Workstation or KDE, etc.) and if it is fully updated. sudo dnf upgrade --refresh

Hello Jeff,
Fedora 43 Workstation Gnome Desktop. Everything up to date so far. Please see attached screen. Thank you.

The app shown (Protokolle) does not appear to be a fedora app (unless the package name does not begin with proto....)

Problems with non-fedora apps may require you contact the provider where it was gotten.

If what I see online is correct it seems an app for translating German ↔ English. Is that correct?

It is the protocol app from gnome desktop 49. Fedora is running as german version. Let’s try another way. Here is the output of journalctl | grep -i “Failed to check if /run/user”

Error message doesn’t appear anymore since the last fedora system updates. issue closed.
