Package update policies: Do minor versions/patches land in the current release?

As per title.
I’m currently using several packages, e.g. gnome-pomodoro and tldr that I noticed that newer versions have already been released.

Will these updates likely be pushed to the current Fedora version, or should I expect to wait for the next major Fedora release?

Is there a general rule regarding feature updates vs. bug fixes, or is this largely left to the discretion of individual package maintainers?

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

This is the general policy for packages updates:

Individual packages require individual maintainers to update them. Somehow, our automation hasn’t filed a bug for the new release of gnome-pomodor, even though it’s setup:

I use gnome-pomodoro too, so I’ve opened a PR for the maintainer here now:

For future reference, the best way to get a maintainer’s attention is to open a new bug. You can use your Fedora account to log into the Bugzilla instance. The packages app also includes a convenient link to opening a bug. See this doc page:

Thanks a lot for the insightful information.

Opened a bug and tldr is already updated from bodhi on my laptop to beta test and karma approve the upgrade!

After the MR you have done on gnome-pomodoro a bodhi package will be available too?
I’d like to be a tester there too!

Yes, all updates must go through the bodhi system, so as soon as we merge the PR and build, we’ll be able to push an update to bodhi for testing.

Thanks for testing, it’s so important
