Big news! I’m taking on the role of an event owner for Open Source Community Africa Festival (OSACFEST) 2025, which runs from August 14th-16th in Lagos,Nigeria.
OSACFEST helps integrate the act of open source contribution to African developers whilst strongly advocating the movement of free and open source software. This will be the first time the Fedora community will be establishing a presence in the region, opening doors for local contributors and enthusiasts. This is a truly exciting step for the community and the opportunities it presents.
To make organizing a presence at OSACFEST successful, I would like to gather public interest on who can be present at the event and maybe assist with ideas and planning towards a Fedora presence. We plan to kick things off very early so we can conduit ideas into a proper event actualization before August. We’ll begin the planning process on a Fedora wiki page, This will help us organize our efforts toward a successful outing and a proposal.
Check out our wiki page for more information on the event and drop a comment below to indicate interest.
