Hello!
This was difficult to google due to overlapping keywords with laptop users, so here we are.
I have a Ryzen 9800x3d, a MSI mobo, and recently switched my GPU from the 6900xt to the 5060 ti. I followed this guide:
A complete guide on getting Nvidia's Proprietary drivers for Fedora desktops (Workstation, KDE and Atomic) with instructions for Secure Boot and encrypted drives.
and was able to install the drivers and boot up just fine.
I have a 1440p monitor connected through DP and a 4k TV connected through HDMI. For some reason, through the Display settings, I cannot output or even activate the TV although everything works fine on the monitor.
And even while viewing the settings for the TV in the Fedora Display utility, it states in the Display settings that I can only select a max refresh rate of 30 Hz whereas it is a 4k 60 tv.
Even more weirdly, this is persistent stutter in the mouse movement and keyboard typing every few seconds while the TV is turned on as another display in settings as a display but not getting a signal at all.
Everything was working fine up until the GPU switch. Any idea how this issue can be resolved? Much thanks!
We need a little more info.
The tv may require an hdmi 3.1 cable for the 60 hz refresh.
Some gpus will only support 30hz refresh at 4k on hdmi, but will support 60hz with DP.
Please post as preformatted text the output of the following commands.
dnf list --installed \*nvidia\*
lsmod | grep nvidia
inxi -Fzxx
modinfo -F version nvidia
modinfo -l nvidia
Of those commands the only one with large amount of output is inxi.

Hey!
I’ve posted as preformatted text the output of the commands.
I’ll also add that this exact same setup was working without issues with the prior AMD GPU. Adding that because that removes cables from the issue (I hope, as they’re the same).

I’ve had to disable it as that is the display that is simply not getting a signal, although the OS thinks it is active (it also only shows a refresh rate of 30 Hz in the options, whereas it is a 60 hz display). I would get cursor stuttering and keyboard lag if I kept it on.
Thank you for fixing the issue with those posts.
We have seen some cases where using both HDMI and DP on the same card has had problems.
Have you considered using a DP to HDMI cable and connecting both monitors to the DP ports on the GPU?
We have also seen cases where the integrated iGPU has caused issues with the main GPU even in desktop systems. Is it possible to disable the iGPU within bios to eliminate that possibility?
We have also seen cases where a 4k 60Hz monitor is restricted to 30Hz by either an older HDMI cable or the card itself which may be incapable of supporting 4k 60Hz when more than one monitor is attached.

Appreciate you taking the time to help me figure this out. I’m downloading the Fedora 44 update and will update in the hope that it might fix most of these issues.
There is something that has fundamentally become broken in the graphics drivers. I just tried playing back downloaded videos and most of files did not play, and those that did, had graphics artifacts.
I’ll report back if something changes after the update.
Have you performed the recommended changes for multimedia support as suggested here .?
