Side note, some of the guides on this site are downright harmful (most particularly, the NVIDIA one is pretty much an atrocity that has resulted in many a borked system), please be wary of anything from there!
Unfortunately, people use them and they think they’re correct because they appear to work, but next kernel update that’s not compatible with the DKMS source the binary installer installs, it breaks everything .
The nvidia one gets posted on the subreddit far too often.
