The preview window in OBS Studio on Fedora 33 is not working under Wayland. It doesn’t show anything. The issue apparently existed in flatpak as well but has been fixed. I don’t like flatpaks so I’d rather not use that. This suggestion does work:

env XDG_SESSION_TYPE=gtk obs

I plan to file a bug when I get a chance.

EDIT: Well that’s annoying, it’s part of RPM Fusion not Fedora. I guess I’ll need to create an account over there.

We used OBS Studio for our virtual Pinewood Derby. I’ve written up the experience. It worked great but I still hope not to need to do a virtual Pinewood Derby in the future.
