This is not really a huge issue, but I did try to switch to the open-source drivers out of curiosity by removing the installed prop drivers, but it looks like I can’t choose refresh rates above 60 Hz at 4K resolution (VRR toggle also dissappeared, but I’m not sure if that’s supported at all without prop drivers?), which I thought would be possible after nouveau enabled the use of the GSP firmware or am I wrong? This is over HDMI 2.1, which I’d think the GSP would support.
Has anyone got more experience with the open-source drivers? I just want to know if this is the expected behaviour or is it an issue on my side and I need to tweak something.
The only kernel arguments I have currently are the below (after I removed the nouveau blacklist and left only the Nova driver there).
rd.driver.blacklist=nova_core modprobe.blacklist=nova_core
Also this is what the System details page in the settings menu says about the GPU currently (putting it here just in-case it’s not supposed to say exactly this on the open-source drivers, even though it looks fine to me):
zink Vulkan 1.4(NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 4090 (NVK AD102))
