From Proposed Common Issues to Ask Fedora

What did you mean ?

Removed kde-partitionmanager, kdeconnect, kdenlive

Hi @sayyad . I’m trying to make sure people understand where to best file new topics. When you created a new topic in Proposed Common Issues , there was this pre-populated template present:

This is NOT a place to report bugs. If you want to discuss a problem, use the Ask category instead:

Why have you decided to still create it in Proposed Common Issues instead of the suggested Ask Fedora category? Please help me understand your thought process, in order to better phrase the template. Thanks!

Failure to write to an ntfs file system is often caused by having windows shutdown with fast boot enabled.

When fast foot is enabled in windows a shutdown leaves the drive in a “dirty” state as windows leaves it in a state similar to hibernate. In that case fedora can only mount it as read only to avoid data corruption.

If you disable fast boot within windows then the drive is left in a “clean” state and can be mounted by fedora in read/write mode.
