Nouveau corrupted framebuffer on transition between graphical GUIs

Fedora Kinoite 44 on that HP EliteBook 8560w w/ Quadro 1000M.

How do I fix the corrupted FB from appearing? I’m OK with it displaying black or something, I just don’t want a corrupted framebuffer to appear.

(This also happens on a GTX 1080Ti with proprietary drivers - same OS, different machine) (To be clear; that topic is for another time.)

The usual way to fix issues with an nvidia gpu is to install the rpmfusion nvidia drivers.
I don’t know how that is done on an atomic os that you are using.

Unfortunately: a. That does not fix the issue (same issue happens on a device with the proprietary drivers); b. Cannot be performed on the HP EliteBook 8560w, as it’s Quadro 1000m (Fermi) only supports the 390xx drivers, which are too old to support Wayland (thus, they are practically useless for a modern distro).

But the 580xx (which I am using) driver still loads - it’s just that it shows a corrupted Framebuffer when nothing’s rendering - is this what you meant anyway?
