Hey, I’m using an Asus ROG Strix 16 (2025), and I’m using a USB C to DisplayPort into a BenQ EX240N monitor on a fresh Fedora 43 install, and usually the monitor’s speakers do not work. There is no issues on Windows or CachyOS, but for some odd reason, on Fedora, the monitor’s speakers do not work.
Very rarely, when I reboot, do the speakers sometimes work, and another monitor, the BenQ GW2480 typically has no issues at all (It’s even attached to my Sonnet 13 Thunderbolt dock).
If I remember correctly, I believe this was also an issue on a custom PC I had with an AMD graphics card.
